This wearable miniature sculpture is designed and made by Lynne Tan, a Southwest Michigan ceramicist whose works can be found in shops and galleries in the area. This piece is hand-formed from white porcelain clay. while the necklace cords are shaped from a tempered stainless steel coil.
The porcelain is lightly sanded after firing so that the surface is smooth to the touch, but without any glaze so that the organic rawness of the clay’s muddy origins can be fully appreciated.
Porcelain Jewelry: All components can be washed with liquid soap. Just be sure to dry off the metal wire. If necessary, the porcelain parts can be gently scrubbed with dishwashing liquid and a scrub sponge (apply abrasion, not pressure).
