"The process I use to create my alcohol ink paintings explores the formation of forms and patterns without the use of brushes. The colors are individually applied and controlled only by pouring, tilting, turning and flipping the ink onto Yupo paper. The hard textures in trees, rocks and mountains are created by sliding the side of a plastic straw quickly while the ink is wet. No other tools are used." ~ Mary Parks
“Media is something I thought I was to control, letting it control me releases it’s true spirit” ~ Vincent VanGogh
A cenote is a deep, water-filled sinkhole in limestone that is formed when the roof of an underground cavern collapses. Mary captures the colorful beauty of this natural phenomenon in this beautiful alcohol ink painting.
What a beautiful piece to hang on your wall.
